TopoSys has been performing the acquisition of high-precision digital terrain models with the company’s own Falcon I laserscanner system since 1996, joined by the Falcon II follow-up model in 2001. Since 2001 TopoSys has produced with the two scanners over 6,000 km² per annum of high resolution, digital terrain models and RGB/NIR data.

In March 2004 a further Falcon II was put into operation. As a result, TopoSys is currently performing data acquisition with three scanners and has a production capacity of over 15,000 km² per annum. TopoSys is therefore one of the few suppliers worldwide operating three high-end airborne LIDAR systems for the company’s own data acquisition.

In conjunction with the systematic development of customer-oriented applications in the GIS sector, TopoSys has assumed the role of a leading service provider throughout Europe.
